Bryan County Jail Release Paths
The Bryan County Jail is the only confirmed adult county detention facility with an official public roster found in the county research. The Bryan County Sheriff's Office operates it. People held there include pretrial detainees and people serving or awaiting action on local cases. A community release can follow bond, recognizance, time served, sentence expiration, dismissal, or another court order.
Transfer is the main source of false release claims. A person sentenced to ODOC can leave the Bryan County Jail while remaining incarcerated. Another hold may send the person to a county, tribal, federal, or immigration custodian. Confirm Bryan County Jail Release
Use the official Bryan County Jail roster as a present-custody check. It is searchable by name and shows in-custody booking and charge information. If the person is present, that source says the person remains in this jail at the roster's last update. If the name is gone, move through the full chain.
- Search exact and alternate spellings on the current roster. Save the booking number, booked date, charges, photograph, and any hold information for the correct match.
- Search OK VINE and read the reporting facility plus exact status. Released and transferred describe different events.
- Search ODOC by DOC number or name. A new reception or active prison status means the county exit was not community release.
- Review ODCR with Bryan County selected, then use OSCN if needed. Read the latest bond, dismissal, sentence, commitment, revocation, or release order.
- Call the jail for a current status and destination that may lawfully be given. Ask whether Bryan County custody ended and whether the event was release or transfer.
- Request the jail-register entry and releasable release sheet for dated confirmation.

Bryan County Jail Register Requests
The Sheriff Records Division maintains BCSO records and accepts requests under the Oklahoma Open Records Act, 51 O.S. sections 24A.1 through 24A.33. Oklahoma law also requires a sheriff's jail register under 57 O.S. section 49. Ask for the individual register entry and any releasable booking or release sheet rather than requesting a vague inmate history.
Include full name, date of birth when appropriate, booking number, case number, and approximate booking and release dates. Request the admission date and time, committing authority, cause of confinement, bond and hold data, custody-ending date and time, discharge authority, release type, destination or receiving agency, and booking photograph when recorded and releasable.
Published copy charges are $1 for the first page and $0.50 for each additional page for the listed delivery methods. Do not send payment until the office quotes an amount. The page says there may be a 24-hour turnaround, which is not a guaranteed statutory deadline. Review and redaction can take longer.

If the request produces a transfer agency rather than a community-release type, continue with that receiving system. For ODOC, search the offender number or carefully match name and date of birth. A reception record shows that state custody began after county custody ended. It should not be described as a Bryan County release to the community.
Bryan County Jail Court Context
A court record explains why custody was authorized to end, but it may not record the hour the jail door event occurred. Search ODCR by party with Bryan County selected and confirm the case number. OSCN is the official statewide court-network alternative. Useful entries include bond orders, warrants and returns, pleas, judgments, jail credit, dismissals, suspended or deferred terms, and revocation filings.
A closed case does not always mean that a sentence or supervision term has ended. Likewise, a bond posting keeps the criminal case open even after physical release. Pair the court order with the jail register. If a certified judgment or disposition is needed, request it from the Bryan County Court Clerk, which says it files and permanently maintains district-court proceedings.

Bryan County Bond Release Timing
The sheriff's official bondsmen page warns that improperly completed or notarized bonds will not be accepted, approved, or filed. Once a case has been filed, the bond must include the case number. These local rules show why bond authorization and physical release are separate stages.
No official source in the research states a promised release-processing time, exit door, weekend rule, or property-pickup procedure for Bryan County Jail. Do not infer one. After a bond is accepted, call the jail to confirm that all holds and paperwork are cleared and ask what release logistics can be given.
Another warrant or detainer may keep custody in place after one bond issue is resolved. The court docket can show the bond authority, while the jail and register show whether physical custody ended. A bondsman receipt by itself is not a release record.
Property return and pickup arrangements were not confirmed in the official material. The same is true for the physical release door and routine processing length. Those details should be requested from the jail for the named event. A family should not plan transport around a generic estimate that Bryan County has not published.

Historic Durant Jail Is Closed
The Oklahoma Historical Society inventory documents a WPA-era Durant City Jail built in 1937 and 1938 at Fifth and Lost Streets. That site is local history. It is not the current Bryan County Jail, a modern release point, or a place to seek custody records.
Modern county custody questions belong with the sheriff at Evergreen Street. Municipal arrest and incident records belong with Durant Police, and a person booked into the county jail then follows the Bryan County Jail search and release-record route. Keeping the old and current sites separate prevents calls and visits to the wrong location.
Regional transportation may be available through Big Five or Southern Oklahoma Rural Transportation, which lists a Bryan County and Durant contact. It is not documented as a jail-release shuttle. Ask the provider directly about advance scheduling, service area, eligibility, fare, hours, and the actual pickup location before relying on it.
